  • Safe Zone Downdraught Dissection Table

    This is a Dissection Table, which draws down, and filters out if installed with the SafeZone System Filter, contaminating organic solvents, vapours and gases while you are dissecting.
    It is designed to be installed so that you can sit comfortably and safely at work. It can be recessed into a bench top with the long side aligned with the front of the bench. The top of the table has a 50 mm recessed stainless steel 1cm mesh top. The velocity of the down draught fan is measured at 0.7 metres per second, this is above the minimum requirement of 0.6 metres per second. There is an easily emptied collection area at the base of the Table for solids and fluids; drainage is done through a plug at the base of the Table.
    This Dissection Table has ergonomic design features, which will make your dissection work place both more efficient and safer to work at. If required the SafeZone System can be custom made to fit your environment. The SafeZone System is recommended for Pathology Laboratories, Forensic Laboratories, University and School dissection areas, Veterinary Laboratories and anywhere dissection takes place using solvents.

Testing of Scavenger IIITM by HACS Team, Workcover NSW stated that, “the results obtained from the testing carried out of Scavenger IIITM showed that it actually eliminated formaldehyde from the test chamber air by what appears to be a direct chemical reaction”
    
    Scavenger III™ Spillage Kits Scavenger III™ will neutralise formaldehyde or gluteraldehyde spills, increasing workplace safety. Scavenger III™ eliminates formaldehyde by a direct chemical reaction. An excess quantity is directed onto the spill, neutralising the formaldehyde or gluteraldehyde. Once the source of vapour is neutralised the atmospheric levels quickly drop away. A Micro Spill Kit, suitable for laboratories, and a Macro Spill Kit, suitable for factories, is available. The kits contain Scavenger III™, absorbent, gloves, mask and waste bags.

  • Cassettes Fronine are the Australian agent for the Medim Bio-Safe , Uni-Safe and Mega-Safe system of embedding cassettes. There are a wide range of cassettes available for handling specimens and biopsies. The unique design offers the greatest specimen security and use of the range of colours includes; white, yellow, beige, green, brown, orange, pink, red, grey, lilac, mint and aqua. The range includes cassettes with and without lids, metal base moulds in 7 different sizes , plastic and metal covers. This brand of cassettes had proved very popular in Australia.

  • Microtome Blades – Fronine can supply either the famous Feather Brand or DuraEdge microtome blades. Duraedge disposable blades are high quality hardened stainless steel finely honed and polished for flaw-free edge. Special proprietary process ensures edge quality and promotes durability. Uniform PTFE coating reduces friction, eliminates striations and compressions, and requires no break-in period. We can supply DuraEdge blades from $80 per pack of 50.

  Fronine specialises in the manufacture of preformulated stains, made with certified powders, reliable liquid solutions & fixatives. We offer a comprehensive range of formulations or we can custom make to suit your individual requirements for the same price as the preformulated product.   All stains are precisely formulated and subject to rigorous quality assurance testing, performing optimally and predictability when used either manually or with automated stainers. Or we can supply certified powders and dyes.

  • Mountants
    
    • Ultramount – # 1 through 9 : Refractive index 1.515. This is acrylate/methacrylate based with Xylene as the solvent. Fast drying [touch dry in 3-4mins] and permanent [coverslips are difficult to remove]. The numbers relate to viscosity. No 1 is very thick and No 9 thin. Please note the most common viscosity is No 4, which is equivalent to Eukitt. However Ultramount No 9 has now been released, which is equivalent to Medite’s Pertex, and a mountant especially formulated for automatic cover-slipping machines.
    • Aquamount – This is a water based mountant and is used for special staining techniques where the use of solvents removes the component being stained. This is not a permanent mountant. Otherwise known as Apathy’s mountant.
    • DPX – see NorMount below
    • Safety Mount – No 4 and 7 : Is again Perspex based but with Histolene as the solvent. If one is clearing with Histolene [our Xylene replacement solvent] then this mountant is better suited. Also available in our popular Safe-T-Mount squeeze tubes.
    • Fastmount – Is also styrene based but fast drying. Touch dry in 10 mins. Excess mountant is easily removed from a coverslipped slide after a drying period, using a blade. Coverslips a fairly easy to remove after they have dried with mild heat and Xylene.
    • Normount – Is styrene based and the equivalent of Depex or D.P.X., thick in consistency and slow drying. Touch dry in 20 mins minimum.
